Sarolit™ Bulbs and Pumps
Our bulb and pump products are manufactured using a specially formulated proprietary material called Sarolit™.
What is Sarolit™?
Sarolit™ is a unique material formulated and trademarked for Albert International. It is a USP Class II medical-grade plastisol, with a non-BPA plasticiser (i.e. free of DEHP, BDP, BBP and others), and it does not contain latex.
Sarolit™ is not made with Bisphenol A. Bisphenol A is a chemical that has been used to harden plastics for more than 40 years. It’s everywhere. It’s in medical devices, compact discs, dental sealants, water bottles, the lining of canned foods and drinks, and many other products. Many people and companies are concerned about Bisphenol A and its possible health risks. Albert International decided years ago to change its formulation to a non-BPA version that meets and surpasses the current health standards.
Sarolit™ is a much tougher material than rubber. Rubber deteriorates with exposure to sunlight and ozone and has a shelf life of about three years before cracks and dryness begin to occur. Sarolit™ will last virtually forever. The feel of the material is similar to rubber in fact, many find the set back on Sarolit™ even better. The finished product can be flexible or firm depending on the durometer specified. Standard durometers range from 60-degree shore A and can be changed to custom specifications.
